It was year 1956 when Negros Island was heard on air. Claimed and oversaw by Sammy Palanca, the first radio TV station in the area was manufactured under the Visayan Broadcasting Network. Be that as it may, in 1963, Sampaguita Broadcasting System assumed control over the station headed by a business big shot named Ricardo Lopez-Tan. The station then was known as DYRL taking the initial two intials of its organizer.
