The station first went broadcasting live in November 1946 and was a CBS Radio member. KROP had a music position from the 1950s to the mid-1980s when it changed to a news/talk group. In 1995, it changed to Country Music group. This endured until 1998 when the station got to be KKSC, “ESPN 1300”, a games talk station subsidiary with ESPN Radio.
